Catching the Last Wave
Catching the Last Wave is a colorful composition of various types and colors of whole mussel shells. This piece rolls off the wall into the viewer's space in a gentle wave. The shell wave extends into space by 8 inches at the deepest point, and by only 2 at the shallowest. The height of this piece is 48 inches. The piece is not framed in by a window, but instead has edges which are layers upon layers of paper and semi-transparent plastics for an ethereal effect.
